Opinions
Today, everybody has an opinion on something. And with these powerful new tools of communication, those opinions can travel around the world and influence people. Faster than ever before.
And that's good. But there's a big problem that I finally realized recently.
1. Some of these opinions are based on personal grudges.
2. Powerful people PAY influencers to voice these so called opinions. In that case they are not opinions at all.
3. Some of the influencers are very sincere in what they believe in. But they don't have enough training to be up on a world stage.
4. Perhaps some of the influencers enjoy the sound of their own voice.
So - when people talk about "what's the difference between old and new media?" - that's a big difference to me.
Back in the day, a lot of news was reported without a byline. Only certain prestigious journalists were given bylines. Nowadays it seems all journalists want a byline.
Used to be - the reason for a byline was the writer was expressing his own opinion. All the other writing belonged to The Sacramento Bee, A.p., reuters, etc.

Quayle
Dan quayle wears a video cam on his forehead. Its connected over 4g to a command and control center. Running the center:
Daddy bush
Young bush
Cheny
Rummy
They play poker all day.
When quayle gets in a pinch, he pushes a panic button. Then he looks very serious and pretends to be thinking.
The dream team kicks in. They drop their card decks and review the last minute of the life of dan quayle. Then they coach him on what to say and how to react.
Quayle will adopt this personna of a very deep and ponderous thinker. Everybody will know that he doesn't give quick answers.
